From October 24 to December 12, three different organizers run Atmore's main community events. The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce runs the big Saturday festival on South Pensacola Avenue and the Christmas parade. Main Street Atmore runs the downtown Thursday nights. The Poarch Creek Indians host Thanksgiving at the Pow Wow Grounds on Jack Springs Road. Each group posts its own calendar, so the season moves from one address to the next as each host takes its turn.
The theater, Wind Creek and a few fundraisers add nights around the edges. Because the Chamber and Main Street Atmore keep separate calendars, they sometimes list the same event at different start times.

Pensacola Avenue Opens the Season on One Saturday
The first big day is Saturday, October 24, and it all happens at 501 South Pensacola Avenue. The Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce lists Williams Station Day there from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The listing promises art, a main stage, food, a car show and antique tractors. The Chamber says the festival celebrates Atmore's late-1800s history as a train stop.
Last year's event gives a sense of the size. The Atmore Advance called the 2025 festival the 33rd annual and counted more than 115 vendors. If it has run every year, this October's festival is the 34th. As of mid-October, the Chamber's listing describes main-stage entertainment but doesn't name any performers.
The same address starts the day even earlier. A Breast Cancer Awareness 5K is listed for 7 a.m. to noon at 501 South Pensacola Avenue, so runners and vendors will be setting up on the same grounds before the festival opens at 9. The listing doesn't give an entry fee.
That Friday night has a downtown option too. Encore at the Strand lists Wildwood at the Strand Theater, 116 S. Main St., on October 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. General admission is $8.80 plus a 22-cent service fee. At Wind Creek Atmore, 55 South plays the Center Bar on October 23 and 24 from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Then Main Street Takes Over, Mostly on Thursdays
After Williams Station Day, the season moves downtown and Main Street Atmore's calendar does most of the work. The first downtown night is a Friday. Trick-or-Treat on the Street is set for October 30, with downtown businesses handing out candy and Main Street Atmore's Witches Ride parade. The Chamber lists it from 4 to 6 p.m. Main Street Atmore's calendar lists 5 p.m.
From there, the season runs on Thursdays. Sip & Stroll, which Main Street Atmore also calls Artmore, happens on the first Thursday of each month. The listed dates are November 5 and December 3, from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Main Street's Promotion Committee puts it on, and it describes the night as late shopping, live music, local art, wine tastings and food.
Main Street Atmore's First Thursday page names the businesses that take part:
- Food and drink: The Encore @ The Strand, The Publican, Gather Restaurant, The Coffee House, K & N Sugar Shop
- Shops: Terry's Furniture & Music, Sister's Downtown, Trace Patrick Apparel, Candlewood & Co., Hawt Mess Boutique, Daughters Custom Framing & Accents, Southern Gifted, Mossy Lantern, Black Magnolia 3D, The Junky Pearl
One caution about that page. Its intro text still shows "Nov 5 | Dec 5" and an older 4 to 7 p.m. window. The main events calendar shows December 3 and 4:30 to 9 p.m., which matches the first-Thursday pattern.
Two weeks after the November Sip & Stroll comes Music on Main on Thursday, November 19. The Chamber's listing sets it from 5:30 to 7 p.m. with local artists and late shopping, and calls it the start of the holiday season downtown. Main Street's calendar shows the same date as "All Day."
The December first Thursday has the busiest overlap of the season. Main Street Atmore lists the Christmas Tree Lighting at 5 p.m. on December 3, half an hour after that night's Sip & Stroll begins. If you come for the lighting, the shops and the music are already going.
Some smaller downtown nights fill the gaps. Encore at the Strand lists a Ribs On Ridgeley pickup on October 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Boxcar Willie, 207 W. Ridgeley St., at $15 an order of cooked ribs. On November 21, the Strand lists An Evening at the Opry starring Jordan Poole, a country tribute with the Shades of Country Band, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets weren't on sale yet as of this writing.
Downtown also has a few things that weren't there in earlier years. The Atmore Advance reported a ribbon cutting for Corner Coffee at We Care Thrift Stores on August 7, 2026. Main Street Atmore also announced in November 2025 that a new restroom trailer, paid for through its "Better Access, Better Events" effort, will be set up at downtown events. That makes a long Thursday night easier, especially with kids.
Thanksgiving Belongs to Jack Springs Road
In late November the season leaves downtown completely. The Poarch Creek Indians' official event page sets the Annual Thanksgiving Pow Wow for November 26 and 27, 2026. That's Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after. It takes place at the Pow Wow Grounds, 6477 Jack Springs Road.
Admission is $15 for both days, $10 for one day, and free for children 6 and under. The page says tickets are sold only at the venue on the day of the event, so you can't buy them ahead. The program includes intertribal dance competitions for men and women of all ages, a drum contest and the Poarch Creek Indian Princess Contest.
The Pow Wow is older than Williams Station Day. A 2025 announcement published by This Is Alabama says it started in 1971 as a homecoming for Tribal Citizens and calls the 2025 gathering the 53rd annual. The same piece says "tens of thousands of people" attend.
As of mid-October, the 2026 page lists dates and admission but no gate or grand entry times. The 2025 schedule included a Thanksgiving morning 5K, with registration at 6 a.m. and the race at 7 a.m. Don't count on those times for this year until the 2026 schedule is posted. Questions go to the Cultural Department at [email protected] or (251) 368-9136, ext. 2052.
The Parade Brings It Back Downtown
The season ends on Saturday, December 12, with the Twilight Christmas Parade. The Chamber hosts it, and its registration page lays out the route:
- The parade turns left from East Ridgeley Street onto North Main Street.
- It continues down Main Street.
- It turns onto Lindberg Avenue.
- It ends at the four-way stop in front of Escambia County High School.
The same page includes a rule that affects where families with kids should stand:
"No candy will be thrown before making the turn. If you are standing on East Ridgeley Street or near the turn onto North Main, you will not receive candy."
So for candy, stand somewhere on North Main past the turn or along Lindberg Avenue. The Chamber lists the parade from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Central. Main Street Atmore's calendar lists 5 p.m.
The Two Calendars and Their Gaps
Because the Chamber and Main Street Atmore keep separate calendars, the season has three time conflicts and one stale page:
- Trick-or-Treat on the Street, Oct. 30: the Chamber says 4 to 6 p.m.; Main Street says 5 p.m.
- Music on Main, Nov. 19: the Chamber says 5:30 to 7 p.m.; Main Street says "All Day."
- Twilight Christmas Parade, Dec. 12: the Chamber says 5:30 p.m.; Main Street says 5 p.m.
- Sip & Stroll: Main Street's First Thursday page still shows December 5; its events calendar shows December 3.
For the parade, the Chamber's registration page is the one the host itself posted, and its 5:30 start is the safer bet for picking a spot on Lindberg. For the Thursday nights, Main Street Atmore runs Sip & Stroll, so its events calendar is the one to check. For Thanksgiving, check the Poarch Creek Indians' own page for gate times once they're posted.
If you're thinking about selling a house on or near Main Street or the parade route, it helps to know which of these nights will bring crowds past your door. Charles Kelley at Kelley Real Estate Co can walk you through what that calendar means for a listing date in Atmore. If you'd like a number before deciding, request a free home valuation.
